Huge thanks to beautiful soundtrack composed by Austin Wintory. For the most part, I felt really immersed by the game, I forgot pretty much everything but the game I was experiencing. A game like this is supposed to make you feel things, on that aspect, ABZU is a success.ĭuring my playtrough, there wasn't even a slightest moment, when I felt annoyed or bored in ABZU. Though ABZU is mostly cheerfully colorful game, and interacting with dolphins or turtles, along with all types of other sea creatures, and jumping above the ocean surface doing some playful stunts brings a smile to your face, I personally felt even a bit intimidated when I had to delve deeper into dark ocean. Ranging from well lit coral reefs to murky bottomless caverns. You are free to explore quite large, different types of aquatic areas. As a person, who really enjoys interacting with, and just looking at video game water, I can happily say that the game doesn't disappoint. The game is about exploration, peaceful and calm exploration in the most breathtaking and rich underwater setting I have ever encountered in a video game.ĪBZU is simply a gorgeous game. Like most video games, ABZU doesn't offer you challenges to overtake, or high scores to beat. Like in Journey and Flower, in ABZU, there really isn't a meaningful story, surprising plot twists or deep and developing characters.
Game is founded by Matt Nava, whose creative mind is also behind Playstation exclusives Flower and Journey.
ABZU is an artsy ocean exploration game by Giant Squid, released for PS4 and PC.
